Camp Shady Cove: A Big Surprise

Boy were we surprised when at 8:30 we got a text from Steve saying that he was already on his way and would be here at 11:00pm. We were just getting ready to play a game of Hand and Foot.

Hand and Foot is such s fun card game. My Mom and Dad have taken to regularly playing this game with my Aunt and Uncle and some other relatives of theirs. They take it very seriously and now that the kids are both old enough to play we can enjoy it as a family too. Hand and Foot has an excessive amount of rules. I've finally figured out most of them but would still be lost if I were to play on my own, When my Mom and Dad first stated playing they had to call Oklahoma on a regular basis to confer with relatives regarding the rules. Apparently Oklahoma is the home capital for Hand and Foot. Well that makes sense.

Steve gave us an update regularly on his position as we played through our hand and just as Grandma and the kids were wiping up the floor with Poppy and I he rolled into camp. Cheers went up as our new camper arrived and gave out much longed for hugs and kisses. It was a sweet reunion and nice to have our family all back together again.

Things finally settled down and Daddy tucked his two treasures into bed for the first time in 5 days. Then we all said our goodnights and settled into a goodnights sleep.
