One of the fun aspects that my husband has thoroughly enjoyed over the course of our many Disney Cruises is creating some very cool graphics for our cabin door. The doors on the cruise ships are all metal and so magnets are a great way to decorate them. Having your door decorated makes it easy to spot for little ones and it shares a little bit about yourself with your neighbors who pass by your door on a daily basis. It’s interesting to know your neighbor resides in a foreign country or that they have two boys just like you. It is what I think makes the Disney Cruise a little more friendly and family oriented. Door magnets also make some great little gifts to bestow on those you meet and get to know through out your cruise. Our door above has the graphics Steve created for our previous cruises so people can see where we have been and it is covered with new magnets from friends that we met on the cruise. The Mickey Ears were a gift to us from a friend we met on our very first cruise.
As I said my husband really enjoys creating fun graphics for our cruises here are some of ours from the previous cruises and a couple of ones that we have coming up.
This was one of our first cruises. It’s a picture of The Magic at sea, can you spot the hidden Mickey in the clouds? From there he began to get even more creative.
In October of 2011 we took two back to back 3 and 4 day cruises on The Dream and then spent a few days at Animal Kingdom in WDW. Here is the collage of graphics he created for our door then. We have Mickey, Minnie, and Donald taking a ride on the Aquaduck. Mickey snoozing in a hammock with the St. John shoreline in the background along with The Dream. Steve has certainly gotten more creative.
In 2011 we were on the Disney Wonder’s inaugural West Coast cruise. It was a quick two day cruise that departed from San Pedro California and simply went out to sea and came back again never stopping once. Hence the cruise to never-land theme.
I loved this graphic of our Mexican Riviera cruise. Actually this rates as one of my favorite cruises because of the ports of call. It is sad that they are no longer able to cruise to Mexico.
Here we have Steamboat Willie Mickey sailing the ship through a background of the Tracy Arm up the Inside Passage on Disney’s Alaskan Cruise. We are just mere weeks away from this vacation and I can’t wait. I hope to have some amazing pictures to share with you.
Our next up coming cruise in 2014 is a 14 day Disney Cruise through the Panama Canal. Steve and I are going without the kids. I can’t even imagine 14 days without them but, I am so excited to visit the new destinations on this cruise. Cartagena Columbia here I come.
Here are some other fun graphics he put together for the kids.
