Recently I posted on my Facebook page a request for my friends to share what gas price they are paying in their neck of the woods. Here are some of the responses:
Lowest: $3.45 in Arkansas
Highest: $ $4.57 in Texas
Canada: $1.15 per liter roughly $4.60 per gallon
When you think about it there is not that much difference between the lowest and the highest. With the price of gas expected to rise even more what are some of the things you are doing to cut your gas bill down?
My husband recently found Gas Buddy a smart phone app that tells you what the gas prices are at the various stations near you. For a road trip this is great thing to have no longer will I have to scan the freeways signs hoping to find a great deal I can easily locate and get a map to the best deal near me. There is also GasBuddy.com that can be accessed by the internet on their website you can look up places around the country that you may be thinking of traveling to. Gas is a big expenses in a road trip and having a general idea of what you will be paying is important in planning for your expenses.
And then if you want to really save money you can go to the extreme like my husband did and park your gas hog in lieu of a much more fuel economy car. Such as his new Ford Fiesta which gets him 28 miles to the gallon in the city as compared to his 8 miles to the gallon on his Ford F250. Sometimes it pays to just bite the bullet and go get that new car.
So, how are you saving money?
