We are back home again and as I look through our pictures I thought they best told the story of our trip. So let’s start from the top with our Sail Away Party onboard the Disney Dream. The kids are clearly into the moment as they dance and wave their streamers.
Once settled in onboard the Aquaduck was the main attraction. That and all of deck 12 which has the pools, spa, giant movie screen and of course the free pizza and drink stations.
Snorkeling in the Bahamas: The kids have been practicing their snorkeling all summer long in their cousins pool. Upon entering the ocean for the first time with her snorkel gear on Leah immediately exclaimed “It’s beautiful!” She and Stuart both took to it like fish and enjoyed our hour long snorkel excursion in the Bahamas. The one picture of the three ships shows “The Dream” towering over the two carnival ships on either side of it.
Castaway Cay bike day: To me there is no place on earth that is closer to paradise than Disney’s private island Castaway Cay. The soft sand between your toes, the blue green water, and a beach lined with lounge chairs and umbrellas. The bartenders that walk the beach ready to bring you something ice cold to drink also make this a place to dream about. On our first stop to this island we rented bikes and road the 5k bike trail that offers some excellent views. Uncle Stuart joined us and with Leah’s competitive spirit the race was on. She and Uncle Stuart battled it out to see who would come in first.
At the end of the trail you find yourself at Serenity Bay the adults only beach. It is a quite spot where you can hear the waves pounding on the shore with breezes that cool you off so you are ready to make the return trip back to the beginning of the trail.
One rainy day: On our second visit to Nassau we had planned to stay aboard the ship and take advantage of the pools while most people were visiting the port. It also happened to be only day we had rain that trip and boy did it rain. You can see the standing water on the pool deck. You may also notice that my brood were the only ones in the pool that rainy day.
Just another day in paradise: On our second stop at Castaway Cay we enjoyed a day of snorkeling and playing on the beach. Uncle Stuart volunteered to be buried in sand and the kids also to took the plunge at Pelican Point.
The rest of our time on ship was filled with dinner and shows, friends, and so much more to do.
Let’s not forget the homework done in our lovely little cabin at the desk or on the deck it was faithfully completed.
Now look for part 2 of our trip report coming soon Walt Disney World!
